Reiki (pronounced Ray-Key) is a gentle hands-on technique for stress reduction and relaxation that helps a client tap into their supply of "life force energy" to improve their health and enhance their quality of life. Reiki is based on the idea that an unseen "life force energy" flows through us and is what causes us to be alive. If one's "life force energy" is low, then we are more likely to get sick or feel stress. If it is high, we are more capable of being happy and healthy. It's like your car's engine. If the battery or transmission fluid, etc. in your car is low, it won't run right. Replenish the battery or fluids and your car will run smoothly. This is what Reiki does for you.
The
word Reiki is made of two Japanese words: Rei, which means "God's
Wisdom or the Higher Power"; and Ki, which is "life force
energy". So Reiki is actually spiritually guided life force
energy.
Reiki stimulates the natural ability of the body
to self-correct and restore balance. A treatment feels like a wonderful glowing radiance
that flows through you and surrounds you. Reiki treats the whole person, including body, emotions, mind and spirit,
and creates many beneficial effects
including relaxation and feelings of peace, security and well-being.
Reiki is a simple, natural and safe method of self-improvement
that everyone can benefit from. It also works in conjunction with all
other medical or therapeutic techniques. Reiki has no side effects and it
promotes a speedier recovery.
An amazingly simple technique to learn, the ability to use Reiki is not taught in the usual sense, but transferred to the student during a Reiki class "attunement". The "attunement" is given by a Reiki Master/Teacher and allows the student to tap into an unlimited supply of "life force energy" to improve one's health and enhance the quality of life.
Reiki is not dependent on one's intellectual capacity or spiritual development, and therefore, is available to everyone.
Just for today,
I will be thankful for my many blessings;
Just for today,
I will let go of anger;
Just for today,
I will let go of worry;
Just for today,
I will do my work honestly;
Just for today,
I will be kind to myself,
my neighbor and all living things.
